Schedule your own cozy 2 hour workshop at our Corktown studio! This event is suitable for beginners, or for current potters interested in slab building and slip decorating techniques. Paper resist and slip transfer techniques will both be available during this 2 hour time block. Email erinbusksutton@gmail.com to select a time.

Choose one of our handmade bowl molds or a Grand Rapids Pottery Forms trinket dish mold and Erin Elizabeth will guide you through the process of making a custom slab-built bowl or small plate. Once it sets up, she'll guide you through decorating it with unique, locally produced colored slip (a liquid clay with tints added) to create a one-of-a-kind, food-and-dishwasher safe dish.

We are making every effort to have bowls fired within 4 weeks of the workshop, but this is dependent on our kiln schedule. You will be notified via email or text when your bowl is ready for pickup. Shipping is available for an additional fee.

Your spot is refundable up to 2 days before - please kindly notify erinbusksutton@gmail.com to cancel or reschedule if you cannot make it. We are a small business relying on these payments to cover supply costs and fair wages for our artists. If too few people sign up, we will not be able to run the workshop and will offer rescheduling into a future workshop or a refund.

Notes: The studio address is 1950 Trumbull Ave, Detroit, MI 48216, inside St. Peter's Episcopal Church.

Our studio is located on the 2nd floor of a historic building. Unfortunately we do not have an elevator. There are steps to get into the building and a flight of stairs to reach the studio. We are working to make the space inside the studio as safe and accessible as possible, including adjustable height work benches and stools. You will enter through the Peace and Justice Hive door, facing the corner of Michigan and Trumbull (see picture of sign below).

Parking may be available in the St. Peter's Episcopal lot if the space isn't being used by the hotel, or otherwise there is street parking. Corktown is a vibrant, busy part of Detroit - allow time to park.

If you arrive late, your bowl may not set up in time for surface decoration.
